1. Connect Uploader Dongle
Plug the SDI12 uploader dongle into USB, then click Connect.
2. Check the Box
- Board was programmed with the Flasher (button press, green light)
- Board seated on the dongle header (pin 2 = data, pin 3 = power, pin 4 = GND)
- The standard probe attached to the board, connector fully seated
The box takes the standard probe's calibration, stores it and reads the probe at rest. GOOD: pot it. BAD: do what the screen says and click again.
3. Check Firmware Before Shipping
- A potted box about to ship, its three wires on the dongle header (red 12 V, black GND, white DATA)
- No probe needed — the box is only read
SHIP: it carries the production firmware. UPDATE FIRST: click UPDATE THIS BOX (about 13 minutes over the bus for a box on v2.2 or older, about a minute from v2.3 on), then check again. DO NOT SHIP: potted, the box is out of stock for good — the verdict line says what it may still be used for; not yet potted, back on the Flasher and check again. A potted box cannot be updated, and the 1.3 image resets itself every 19 seconds and goes silent in the cold. CHECK AGAIN: nothing was judged (a loose wire, no answer) — reconnect and click again.
Accept a box with its own probe (rare)
Only when the box ships with this probe attached. The probe's own calibration is written and the probe must have cleared every bench station.
